We have some pretty great traditions for Easter so I'm going to tell you all about them.
We usually go to the all the Tridium masses/service. On Holy Saturday our parish puts on a community Easter Egg Hunt that we always go to. After that we come home and dye eggs. And of course there is dye spilled, little ones whining that they are not allowed to dye their hands, and some awesome Dyed Eggs. XD I've got a couple pictures of our masterpieces.
This is Frani's best Egg. :)
After we dye eggs, we get ready for the Easter Vigil. We have gone to this mass every year that I can remember. It is such a beautiful mass! It starts in the church courtyard outside where there is a bonfire and the priest blesses and lights the Easter Candle. And we all have candles and light them on the Easter Candle. When we get in the church it is all dark except for the big Easter Candle. Then there are lots of readings and singing. After all the readings and singing, all of a sudden all the lights go on and we sing the Gloria with lots bells ringing. The church is so lovely with a white cloth draped around the big crucifix, a bells ringing and beautiful singing, and it feels so magical! I think this mass is probably my favorite Easter tradition.
Claire is really good a curling hair, and she curled Rosie's and my hair for Easter Mass.
This is a picture of my hair:
And here's Rosie's:
Okay, so after the mass ends at around 10:30pm we come home and eat cupcakes that Lu made that afternoon. Then we go to bed and when we wake up the "Easter Bunny" has left our Easter baskets on the table full of candy. So those are the traditions we have done so far. Next, we eat our famous cinnamon rolls. ;)
This afternoon my family going to have Easter dinner and an Easter Egg Hunt at one of our friend's house.
In my basket I got, Reesus chocolate eggs (oooooh yeaaaah!!), milk chocolate eggs, and jelly beans!!! Yay!
I hope you all have a great Easter!
